So contrary to the beliefs of two of the coaches for Drew s baseball team thinks evening, Drew, and several of his teammates, despite getting their ass kicked by the opposing team had a pretty good game. Drew had some good plays in the outfield and had two good solid hits, one of which was spectacular! Now I understand there is a certain amount of butt chewing that comes with a loss. But to be a classless asshole that stands there and tells a group of fifteen year olds that they are all an embarrassment, sorry, untalented, and that not a one of them should be proud of their play in the game is unforgivable. First off, you are the coaches. You are the coaches that allowed your team to stroll onto the field about 10_15 minutes before the game and do something I would not even begin to call a decent warm-up. You are the coaches that were so sure you were going to beat this other team that you did not.see them as a threat, and you did not make sure your team saw them as a threat. Thats what cockiness gets you. Second, you missed an opportunity to protest a run when one of the opposing runners.missed a base completely. Yeah, we were behind...but baseball is a mental game too, and if you dont care enough to fight for your kids, why the hell do you expect them to fight for you. I found it incredulous that not one of the dads standing there that heard that crap said anything, then I realized why.....the same reason I didnt say anything....because Drew lives to play baseball...he is the epitome of for the Love of the game. If we had said something, he would not be allowed to play tomorrow and for him, that would be far worse than getting talked to as he was tonight. People who talk to kids like this are the ones who make kids lose their love for sports. Drew, you had a great game and PawPaw And I LOVE to get to watch You and Luke play. Mom recorded your almost grand slam today and you can hear your PawPaw screaming for you in the background. Keep that video and anytime you think you are an embarrassment, are sorry, or untalented, you play that for yourself. Dont ever let anyone else ever take away your love for the game.!
