So here is something that I am doing in October and I dont know why but I feel the the compulsion to share and if you are not from the same faith tradition, it will probably make no sense. So here it is: Over the past year I have been experimenting with different names (pronouns) dealing with God. In the Judeo-Christian tradition and Scriptures, there are quite a few of them. I really only use about four of them consistently. Maybe, thats not the worst thing but when dealing with something that is as expansive as say, the nature of God, then perhaps some growing experience is required. So what I am doing in October is attempting to only refer to God (as in the God-head) with feminine names and pronouns and attempt to use more describing (Ex. Her and I had a good conversation, or Mother God, . . I believe that there is something profoundly disturbing about the statement, I know Gods not a man, but Hes definitely not a woman. I think that we need to rethink the Statement ...in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. If we believe this, and other feminine mentions of God in the OT as a part of Biblical truth, then maybe its time for me to focus on that (this is not my argument in its entirety). In essence, God is just as male as She (see what I did there?) is female. Anyways, just putting that out there, if you agree or disagree, I dont want to have a facebook debate so talk to me in person about it some time. Maybe you find this part of my personal belief system interesting or helpful. TL;DR: I think God is a Woman, think about it. yep....
