So here it is....... all about Colin Clays Black and Light project and how you can get involved. Local photographer Colin Clay has announced an ambitious new project that will involve the people who live and work in Bermondsey & Rotherhithe. Colins latest photographic venture is called The Black & Light Project and will be run in a totally different way to his wedding photography business. The first of the projects instalments is being dubbed The Faces of Bermondsey & Rotherhithe. This Instalment will consist of an exhibition that will be accompanied by a book comprising solely of portraits taken of people who have links to the area. He is publicly inviting anyone, whatever age, who lives, has lived, works or who are associated with Bermondsey or Rotherhithe to participate, everyone that takes part will receive a digital copy of their image for free. Colins aim is to take as many portraits as possible (when he was asked several hundred was hinted at.) The exhibition will be taking place during the summer of 2015 where a selection of the projects work will be displayed. The book will contain all of the projects images and will be launched at the same time. I have wanted to do a something like this for quite some time. I photograph weddings professionally its something which I love to do. The Black & Light Project is something entirely different for me and it is on a scale of which I have never attempted before, without doubt the largest photographic challenge that I have taken on to date. As far as I know nothing like this has been done before in the area and I have had a great response from people already. Colin will be taking photographs at the Blue Bermondseys Christmas event in the Blue Market on Sunday 7th December, so this could be a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to get involved to find out first hand what its all about. Colin has also pledged to donate all of the profits taken from this first book and exhibition to a number of good causes including The Evelina Childrens Appeal. Show your support and be a part of something unique. For further information go to Colins Facebook Page https://facebook/ColinClayPhotography?fref=ts or his website colinclay
