Well that they have talked about using the muon detection for more than a year now yet they would have us believe due to high levels of radiation that it is a difficult process....Hello, they extremely high levels of radiation would be indicative of a criticality still talking place? That was how they knew the Chicago Pile had gone critical, in the first place, before all that fancy toys. So they have massive radiation but they believe these cores have somehow cooled. The incompetence of that statement alone, should have ever physicist on the planet screaming to kick Japan out of Fukushima and allow some real experts in. They either cannot comprehend what they have on their hands or TEPCO is so desperate to cover this up until they can secure their fortunes, that they have resorted to replaying press releases. I still enjoy when they announced to the world that they had all 3 reactors in cold shutdown. Without the carbon control rods the state of cold shutdown is impossible to achieve during a criticality. As all three reactors melted into a festering goo, I find it highly unlikely that anything will be shutdown there, cold or otherwise, for....Forever! The greatest dilemma facing humanity in our short history and these idiots are playing economics. Reality break, you dont have an economy when everyone dies of cancer, unless its an enslaved one. People desperate for their thyroid medications or hopeful for a magic bullet cancer cure is no economy and in the end has a rather short duration and is unsustainable, relatively speaking of course.
