So in Costa Rica we have a saying “El que no sabe es como el que no ve” “If you don’t know, it’s like you can’t see”, hold that thought. It has taken me a while to get settled after the race, one of the things I had “to do” was take a shot at one of the Ergon saddles I had ordered. I already love my grips, so now the saddle. I’m a long distance runner and biker, I love long, long runs & rides, actually, that is how Rincon Challenge was born, “Really, I can ride around the volcano, I’ve got to do that”, now we’re at the second edition of Rincon Challenge. Over many years of biking I have gone thru all kinds of saddles, ALL KINDS, I don’t want to name any to not dilute the name I want to put emphasis on. Last nite I changed my saddle and went for one of my three times a week long rides (100km mtb). This ride in particular has everything; pavement, gravel road, singletrack, technical 30% upwards singletrack. Twice on this ride I have to pedal out of two river canyons, steep, so steep that you’re at 100% and have to give 110% to get thru some parts, and that for about 1:20hrs each. If your rear end is comfy, it makes all the difference in performance. So I have a question for all of you, do you want to be faster? Simple, one word: Ergon-nomics. Ergon, period. I was so comfortable on my saddle a flew. I never shifted to get comfy, my back did not hurt ever. Usually I have to reapply butt cream for these long rides, I’ll be bold enough to say I don’t even need it. So again, Ergon do you want to be fast? That is my new line. I know Mercedes Benz motto is “The Best or Nothing”, well for me Ergon is the same, “The Best or Nothing” I will never climb onto a saddle that does not say Ergon on it. German design and engineering, nuf said? From now on I will use my small production company and the races to promote this brand that I completely believe in. Rincon Challenge only has brands I believe in, makes it easy to represent them and promote them. This last June I set the first record for another race I plan on launching, The Ultimate 200km. I did it in 12:44hrs. Yep, I’m going to break that time for sure with my Ergon saddle, and I know I will bring that time down about 1.5hrs simply because one of my biggest troubles was my rear end on that ride, lot of long, long, flat bumpy sections near the wetlands. So, now you can “let go of that thought” (above, first quote). So for all of you who have not “seen” for years, try an Ergon saddle, try all their “contact point” products and be faster, simple as that. These products will be magic for my races, and will make you faster in my races, other races and rides “full stop” (like my Kenyan friend David Gitau says, meaning there is nothing better) BTW, doing that 100km ride again tomorrow. Thank you for making me faster Ergon, I have some times and races to improve, looking forward to that. JC ergon-bike
