So, in the name of saving of what will amount to way less than what a day is worth when used for more important work, I have spent several days reading reviews and watching youtube video samples of all the different sport / action cameras out there, and even making a side trip to Yodobashi Camera while in Tokyo last week (after only four hours in Tokyo I was ready to just get an expensive GoPro and pay whatever it costs to just get it over with, but they didnt have it in stock). Since then I have started leaning toward Shimano Sport Camera which I have not really heard of among the current top five or six brands. Cant say it looks much different than GoPro other than being much slicker shape and looks easier to manage. Not sure why it is not as popular online. Only thing that scares me about it is that it has no removable battery, and can only record 2 hours before recharging (takes up to four hours to charge). Not sure how that would play out, as part of the reason I have finally sat my but down is that I want to have if for a week-long trip next week that has 100+km every day with no time to sit down and recharge the battery until night - and even then not sure we will have enough time to get a full charge. Maybe I should go with a slightly more expensive Garmin...? On the other hand, it is half the price of GoPro so maybe I just buy two so I have 8 hours of recording... I expect to get the money back pretty quickly by renting it to customers anyway. I thought this view from the mechanics helmet was kinda cool. https://youtube/watch?v=D2XWtbNtNao shimano-sportcamera/en/movie.php
