So, instead of saying university, we say college. Instead of our normal holiday lesson, we say summer school. Instead of the usual secondary school, we say high school. In place of trouser, we say pants. We say math instead of maths. A while ago, I heard a lady saying that she majors in sociology. Did I tell you that this rabbit goes to Ekpoma (from what I heard)? Since when did AAU start majoring and minoring? October 31st came and I saw Nigerians dressing like horrible little demons released from hell all in the name of celebrating Halloween. These same ones are not to be seen within a hundred miles around their villages during their festivals. What really irks me when I hear and see these Americanized stuffs is how much people have subconsciously come to the conclusion that theirs (the White mans), regardless of the correctness of ours, would rather be preferred than ours.
