So, its my last night in the DR & I was gearing up for the final - TopicsExpress

So, its my last night in the DR & I was gearing up for the final of 4 shows when I unexpectedly got two texts from two women that I love more than life, mom & mama Joe, aka, grandma. I have to share this cause its Facebook worthy & hilarious, especially for those of you fortunate enough to have & know your mom & granny well... Me: So mama joe texted me & said I heard you were somewhere pretty on white sandy beaches. How come you didnt tell me? Why didnt you take me? You know I wouldve loved to go. Wouldnt it be funny if I told her Id take her next time & then sent these to her... (Insert the 3 pics you see here & continue) Me: Hahahaha! Hilarious, right? Love you! I fly in at 8:30 tmw night. Tonight is Panics last of 4 shows. This has been a real treat, 20 plus years in the makings for me. This was my 100-104 show :). Im sure thats not one of your prouder moments as my mother but, at least its a pretty awesome expression of dedication to something. Hypothetically speaking, its like Ive been working a job for Widespread for 20 plus years & thats more than I can say about my waiting tables jobs when I was younger, right? Dont answer that. Thank goodness making music is working out for me:). If Im happy, youre happy. Then right backatcha :). Love you!! Mom: LoL!! I know you have had a blast!!!! So happy you got to go! And in the Caribbean at that! Love the pictures!!! Did they play chilly water? 😜😘 That made me smile & laugh it out cause only my mom, who has seen 3 Panic shows, one against her will & 2 willingly, would ask me if they played Chilly Water! I know that means nothing to most of you, but it means two things to me: 1) She is NOT AFRAID TO ROCK & Panic is gonna have to step it up a notch if they think theyre gonna run Nina out of the arena. This aint her first rodeo. As a matter of fact, she has seen Elvis & The Jackson 5, amongst MANY others, so Panic is just a bunch of semi-pros who have yet to have a hit song or make a female cry with a simple wiggle of the hips or a moonwalk, so she aint that impressed to begin with & if I had to guess, would probably suggest a few members of Widespread to moonwalk some of those extra pounds off if she got to meet them. No picture for her. Guarantee it. The second thing it means, 2) My mom knows my favorite Panic song & by golly, that means something to me. Something like the fact that she is absolutely the mother of a Widespread Panic fan whos at their 100-104 show. Its also proof that I love this knuckle-headed band way more than I should. Once again, thanks to my mom & her music bug, Im glad I got it too & cant get rid of it if I tried. Round 4: Panic. Punta Cana. T minus 5 hours. Lets go!!!
