So its my understanding that Reasonable Auto in Belton has a bad reputation. I wish I would have known that before yesterday. My neighbors had their car towed there because Auto Zone in Belton recommended the guy. Mind you my neighbors moved here from St. Louis so they dont know who is reputable so they thought ok since Auto Zone is recommending them we will try. The car has been broke down for several weeks and needs a timing belt. Well another friend of theirs had come by several times and had gotten all the way to where the belt is located and could not get one bolt off on account of it had about 180 lbs of pressure and he did not have to tools for that. The guy at Reasonable Auto said it was 50 dollars labor and would take about an hour and a half well do the math thats 75 dollars. My neighbor called up there after a while and he said you have bent valves and the car is done. Ok fine we go up there to pick up the car because its also my understanding that even bent valves you can still start the car and it should run like crap but still run. She asked him to show her the compression test and it went all bad from there. The spark plugs were not even in the car and again I know nothing about cars but I think the spark plugs have to be in to do a compression test, the valve cover was put on backwards and the waterpump was in the floor board of the car. The guy wanted 105 dollars or he would not let the car out of the garage. Which you think ok 105 dollars at a garage is not bad but remember they did not have to take anything apart it was already done for them all he had to do was pop that bolt off and put the belt on and the car should have turned over. My neighbors very upset started to holler a little they come outside and the guy sees me sitting in my car walks up to me talking really inappropriate about my neighbors in front of the kids in the backseat which happen to be my neighbors children so now everyone is upset. He wanted them their car off the property but they could not afford another tow and were expecting to be able to drive the car away once we got bsck there and could not because he did not put one thing back onto the car. We left to go borrow a bigger car than mine to pull the car out of his garage and he calls and said a tow driver out of the kindness of his heart pulled it out and put it across the street. What a mess I think my neighbors got screwed out of 105 dollars. Morale of the story dont use Reasonable Auto and Auto Zone stop recommending them.
