So … just this morning I watched a video about Monster Energy drinks and how these drinks are Satanic (I’ve provided the video below). It got me thinking of the words of one of the founders of the Christian rock scene, Larry Norman – who was part of the 1960’s-1970’s hippy, Jesus Movement. One of his quotes, and songs says “Why should the Devil have all the good music.” So, I wondered if Satan has his own energy drink—as this lady would have you believe—what about God? Why should the Devil have all the good energy drinks? Then I realized that God does have his own energy drink. Throughout the Old Testament God used a particular creature as a sacrifice for the sins of Israel—that creature is even symbolic of the ultimate sacrifice that would be made by Jesus on the cross. What was the animal? It was a red heifer. Furthermore, the color blue has great significance in the Bible. It represents the heavenly (Exodus 24:10), holy service, (Exodus 28:31) and chastening (Proverbs 20:30) and, of course we all know that the sun represents the light of God and the Son of God. If you look at the can of an energy drink known as Red Bull you’ll see the red heifer, the cans are covered by the color blue and behind the two red bull’s is a bright yellow sun. Even more so, what is the slogan for Red Bull? “It gives you wings.” So under careful examination we can clearly see that Red Bull is a gift from God directly opposed to the evil of Monster Energy (“Unleash the beast”). Does this all sound silly? Sure but it’s no more silly than arguing that Monster Energy is satanic. I have an idea for everyone … instead of focusing on silly, useless things like “satanic energy drinks” let’s concern ourselves with caring for the poor, infirmed, orphans, elderly and the widowed—as Jesus would have us do. When Christians spend their time preaching about an energy drink company I think it’s time we starting getting our priorities back on track. youtu.be/bntfUA6TmLs
