So... like I get to do every couple of years, the eyes of my government turned to me and asked Who should have these jobs in our Republic, Kurt?, and I answered. It never fails to give me a charge, because 2/3 of the rest of the planet really doesnt have this opportunity, and of those that do, its a specious exercise besides. Yes, I know there are problems here at home; Im accentuating the positive, and celebrating my being an American. As an aside, the voting in my neighborhood is held at a local Methodist church, in the foyer that always smells like soup is being cooked somewhere nearby. I like going here to vote because theres always a number of very personable church cats that are kind of lounging around outside and watching the influx of people. Today was no different, and this gray and white cat was enjoying the last of the mild weather as it supervised the election process. You can see that hes been scrapping, as hes got a nice war wound to his ear, but he doesnt seem to be bothered by it. A demonstrably affectionate kitteh, he responded loudly by purring and meowing a lot at me while I pet him, doing the shimmy tail and arching his back... when I stood up to go inside, he reached up with his front paw and said No, come back...!, or at least seemed to. He was a real flirt. That said, if on any other day, hes considered a church cat, and today theres an election at his church, does that make him a poll cat? *rimshot!* HI-YOOOOOOO....!
