Duncan Faure Billy In The Big Band Duncan gives his main influences as Elton John, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, The Beatles...I choose the influence track. duncanfauremusic/ reverbnation/duncanfauremusic 3. Elton John Benny And The Jets 4. Maggie Young Adrenalin Rush MAGGIE QUOTES, WHEN ASKED HOW SHE GOT THE INSPIRATION FOR HER NEW DANCE SONG ADRENALIN RUSH.IT CAME FROM THE FACT I SEEM TO THRIVE UNDER PRESSURE AND NEVER GET BORED, AS THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO. I GET A BIG ADRENALIN RUSH FROM DOING LIVE PERFORMANCES, LIVING ON THE FAST LANE AND PLUS IM A REAL COFFEE ADDICT- AND THAT ALONE WOULD GIVE ANYONE AN ADRENALIN RUSH. WHEN ASKED HOW SHE COMES UP WITH IDEAS FOR HER SONGS SHE REPLIES I USE A MIXTURE OF LIFE EXPERIENCES, OBSERVE THINGS AND PEOPLES BEHAVIOURS AND REACTIONS, PLUS ITS A BONUS THAT I HAVE A VERY VIVID IMAGINATION. ALSO SEVERAL OF THE EXPRESSIONS USED IN THE CHORUS LIKE HONEY AND SUGARWERE A PLAY ON WORDS. AS BOTH THESE SUBSTANCES TEND TO GIVE AN ADRENALIN RUSH TO THE SYSTEM. ALSO YOU MIGHT EXPERIENCE THIS FROM AN EXCITING OR NEW RELATIONSHIP. A couple of songs with the same type of energy I enjoy are Martin Garrix - Animals (youtu.be/CkRyaG4Mjik ) & #SELFIE - The Chainsmokers (youtu.be/kdemFfbS5H0) Both these songs are PRESENTLY in the U.S DANCE CHARTS. I must confess these nor any other songs influenced writing my own song. I am a terrible COFFEE DRINKER, and seem to live on the stuff; It gives me my ADRENALIN RUSH reverbnation/maggieyoung maggieyoungtv.blogspot/ 5. Martin Garrix Animals 6. Blake Jones & The Trike Shop Camera Obscura Hi Deborah, Heres the story: I wanted the song to sound mysterious. The songs title is sort of mysterious.I think its about how we project mysterious-ness onto things/people that we dont know. Originally, I was thinking sort of ...Cuban for the music. I pictured a cigar-smoke-filled Cuban bar. The song came out a bit more ska, but still had a bit of the Latin thing going, esp. w/ Scotts piano fills. In the end, the song sounded a bit ska and a bit spy....So, not that the song actually *influenced* the writing or arranging of this song, but since it shared so many of the elements: ska, spy, twangy guitar---I immediately thought of the fantastic Two-Tone English ska band The Selector and their tune James Bond. I hope it qualifies...and I hope my narrative makes some sense (laughs). Thanks for all you do showing such positive support to so many independent music folks.--Blake blakejonesmusic/ 7. The Selector James Bond 8.Kevin B Klein – “The Only One” Kevin writes: I am a big fan of the 80’s glam bands. My main influences are Europe and Bon Jovi. I like to think our influences create the inspiration to create fresh new ideas. But with this track I would say lyrically Bon Jovi: “You Give Love A Bad Name” would be my influence track. reverbnation/kevinbklein 9. Bon Jovi You Give Love A Bad Name 10. Poppermost Cinnamon Sunshine poppermost/ reverbnation/poppermost Thanks again Deborah for playing Poppermost on your show - we appreciate you greatly. Cinnamon Sunshine appeared first on the Poppermost self-titled debut album, as an an up-beat indie acoustic song about finding perfect love, and eventually found its way as the accompaniment to the video which features pictures that Roy took during his visit to Key West. Alex wanted to build a better version of the song, so he took Roys bassline and mashed it up with the tempo of I Wish by Stevie Wonder to create Cinnamon Sunshine 2, which is the version being playing this week. Other influences for both versions of the song are America, Fleetwood Mac, 10cc, and The Band. Cheers, Alex 11. Stevie Wonder I Wish 12. The Clarences Plea Bargain Market REALLY appreciate this opportunity! THANK YOU! Here is Speak Freedom Sunny Dome & Plea Bargain Market for you! Mainstream pic....tough one! I had to first find song on laptop, then find the file converter so I could change it to mp3, THEN I had to set my default browser/mailbox to finally get to HERE.. phew! Hope it finds you. So anyway, your latest rant (youre ranting rather a lot these days!,) struck a nerve, reminding me Id written this song. Id say the style of it was inspired by Loudon Wainwright III. When I was younger (naïve - er?,) I dreamed of being like my hero, JIMI. Then, as I got a bit older, I realized that like Jimi, Janice, Jim (the list goes on..), I would never have survived the partying. Still, I daydreamed... wouldnt it be cool to be RICH and FAMOUS?! As I grow older still, and still poor and in obscurity, I, like you, have seen what becomes of those unfortunate enough to become FAMOUS. They are set way HIGH up upon pedestals to be feted and adored by the masses.. And then I began to realize what EASY TARGETS they were, up on those pedastals.... such EASY PREY for the MEDIA; those very same folk who had placed them way up there only to KNOCK THEM DOWN and feed on their carcasses. ...........now Ill settle for being rich. reverbnation/butchbarnette 17. Loudon Wainright III Im Alright 18. Miami Dan & The Hayes Street Band Jericho The Bamboo Trading Co. mix of Jericho is attached. A few words about the song. The track was produced by David Marks of the Beach Boys, who also plays most of the guitar parts on the song. The lead guitar solo, though, was played by Hayes St. Band guitarist Keith Williams. The post production sweetening was done by BTC member Gary Griffin. The backing vocals are done by Garys wife, Elizabeth Griffin and BTC member/Beach Boys bassist, Randell Kirsch. Id say the biggest influence on the writing of this song were songs like Fly Eagle Fly by the Marshall Tucker Band. Current Marshall Tucker saxophonist/flautist/keyboardist, Marcus James Henderson, plays the sax and flute on Jericho. The basic track was recorded at Paul Hornsbys Muscadine Recording Studio in Macon, GA and engineered by Paul Hornsby. Paul was the producer of the first 6 Marshall Tucker albums and played in the Hourglass band with Duane and Gregg Allman. The background guitar parts were recorded in David Marks home studio in New York State. The vocals and post-production sweetening were recorded at the Supreme Hall of Harmony in Panorama City, CA.A slightly different mix of this song with a different lead vocal will be the title track on the upcoming Miami Dan & the Hayes St. Band album currently scheduled for a July 23 release. miamidan https://facebook/TheBambooTradingCompany 19. Marshall Tucker Band Fly Like An Eagle 20. Jane E. Robertson aka Curvy Jane This Is Me Heres the track of THIS IS ME that you requested. THANK YOU so much for playing it on CC...My greatest influences are hands down, Jim Croce and James Taylor. REAL Songwriters. Too many of todays Songwriters use tools to write with and throw ideas around a room to come up song ideas - to each his own, I suppose. Id rather mediocrity from the heart than out-sourced brilliance. We are a dying breed. :o( reverbnation/curvyjane 21. Jim Croce I Got A Name 22. The Big I Am Collecting Skies As per Peter McPartland via Colin Heaney who wrote this one, oh hed been listening a lot to Blue Nile thats the best i can wrench out of him The Big I Am were formed in in lovely Liverpool UK. It is hard to pin down our style, it is most certainly acoustic as it features a cuatro, and a tenor ukulele. There are two distinct vocalists in the band but we know that there is no future for a band from Liverpool with two singers. Still we play on in a world that believes guitars, bass drums and synths is the only way to go. We beg and dare to differ. reverbnation/rash 23. Blue Nile Tinseltown In The Rain 24.
