So moving to Miami was the best thing I couldve done....for me and for Bonnie. And while I miss everyone back at home, there are times when I miss particular people for particular reasons. Today I miss Leo Khomutov. Here is my story: Knowing full well that my eyes are screwed up, I resigned myself to the fact that I will need to find a place to get an eye exam and get a new pair of glasses. Lucky for me, an ad came on TV for AMERICAS BEST Eyeglasses and Contacts - 2 pair of glasses and a free eye exam for $69.95. I figured, at that price, the glasses would be hideous, so I would just get the one pair and pay a little extra. Had the eye exam and, as I figured, my eyes had gotten worse. I new I had the makings of a lazy right eye, but now it appears my eyes are becoming exotropic (think Marty Feldman). So now I have two lazy eyes, and one has an extremely strong astigmatism. Found a pair of glasses that I liked, got measured, and was waiting for them to give me the total. Them: Ok...so your total comes to $383.87. Me: Im sorry....WHAT?!?!? Them: Well it was 65.00 for the eye exam.... Me: No, the eye exam was free. See the big sign in the window? Them: Oh thats only if you buy 2 pairs of glasses. Me: Ok...throw in that pair of Buddy Holly looking things and subtract $300.00 Them: Well because of your unusual prescription, we cant give you traditional lenses. You will need these (insert some specialty lens word here) lenses. Those arent part of the deal. So you have to pay for your eye exam and regular price for your glasses. Me: Funny, I dont see that in your ad anywhere! Give me my prescription and have a nice day. Them: Well you still have to pay for the exam. Un-FLIPPING-believable!! So I paid $65.00 for an eye exam (which I did need, so I didnt mind paying for a service that I needed), but that whole discussion was made at full volume in front of a store full of customers. And now it is available to all of Facebook. Americas Best? You mean Americas Best CON-ARTISTS!!!! If you need glasses, go to the Pearle Vision in Buffalo Grove and ask for Leo Khomutov. Tell him Ed sent you. Leo is the real deal and knows his stuff. He wont con you and he will make sure your eyes are cared for. He genuinely cares for each of his customers and wants the best for you and your eyes.
