So my pool pump motor froze up a couple of days ago. Kelly, Im not the best pool owner, I know! Micah would be shaking his head at me so much the darn thing would probably pop off! Anywho, after it thawed out the motor would only hum and not actually run. After looking through a few pool forums online it appeared that the capacitor needed to be replaced. Well, one guy on the forum suggested it could just be a frozen component and that if I gave it a few love taps with a rubber mallet it would work because odds are that a motor as young as mine wouldnt have a bad capacitor. A few other guys said please dont hit the motor with a hammer. This isnt a 1983 VCR! Well, I figured that I would give it a few taps to see what happened. It freakin worked!!! LOL
