So on a whim and a very last minute decision I decided to go to powwow in Cass Lake...lots of memories triggered tonight...memories that go back to when the Leech Lake Veterans Memorial grounds were brand new...almost a whole lifetime of powwows, people, songs and dances...when fry bread was 50cents and a taco was 3bux...I found myself missing a lot of people...and more than that I was REALLY missing powwow...both dancing and singing...only been to four days worth of powwow this year...I slacked on my powwowing for 9 years now...allowed a combination of grief, gossip, judgement and drama stand in the way of me doing what I truly enjoy... It was the people asking me wheres your outfit? And some of my elders saying I miss watching you dance that got me thinking...contest or traditional ...I enjoy powwow!!!! ...I miss it and the people!!!!...I think 9 years is long enough...so those of yous that are into the drama, gossip and judgement will be behind me from now on...and the people i miss will be next to me and inside me...gana spend the winter getting my boys, my sister and myself ready for a memorable summer next year!!!!!...MY LOVE TO YOU ALL!!!!
