So on any given day, the alarm goes off, you awaken and get your shower, take the dogs out and head off to work. Way, way, way in the back of your mind you know that a couple of weeks ago you had been to the Dermatologist and had a mole removed and havent really thought about it as you wait for the pathology report to come back. The the phone rings and it is not the nurse or PA from the Doctors office, but it is the Doctor, herself. You think to yourself, why is the Doctor - whats wrong? So you take a breath and listen to what she has to say. And she tells you that the stupid little mole that she removed was not just a mole, but it was also a Melanoma... skin cancer. This was my day today. The good news is that it was caught very early and they will most likely only need to operate and remove a larger and deeper portion of skin in the area. Then a PET Scan of the lymph nodes. I most likely will not need any other treatments. But, I am in very good hands... Panzer Dermatology. A very good friend recommended them to me. So, if you are of the mind, a prayer for me and the Doctor would be greatly appreciated.
