So our Government has stated through its lawyers, as part of its defense, that their legal obligations to not send people back to risk of torture does not apply because the 157 people were not in our territorial waters when taken off their boat. First of all that is a disgusting attitude. It shouldnt be legal obligations that prevent them from sending people back to potential torture and persecution. Anyone with the slightest teeniest little bit of compassion would never even consider that. Now my main point here is that I really hope that the prosecutors at the Hague get their hands on that transcript. If Australian Government have just admitted to the High Court to taking these people from a boat outside of our territorial waters where they have no jurisdiction then surely they have just admitted to committing a crime. The fact they then refouled one group of the asylum seekers before a court could stop them means they are guilty of even more. Meanwhile, Mr Morrison arrived in Delhi in what is seen as an attempt to negotiate the return of the asylum seekers, who are Tamils from Sri Lanka, to India where their boat journey began. To what end? With the number of people living in slums in India already how can anyone expect that asylum seekers will have any chance of getting on their feet there? India has its own problems to work on. Meanwhile one of the wealthiest, most livable countries on earth, with its head so far up Murdochs ass it cant see how lucky it is, is crying out to the world that it simply cant help these people. So it sends the biggest dipshit moron politician it has on its blessed, spacious and wealthy shores, to the developing, poor country of 1.2 billion to beg and plead that they take this group of 157 that his wealthy country couldnt possibly help. Now its more likely that he is over there bribing the Indian officials to take them than begging and pleading. Either way he is a slimy, disgusting, inhumane ass hat and I hope his fancy diplomatic vehicle gets hit by a truck on his way back to the airport.
