So people have asked what I think about the whole Bowe Bergdahl fiasco. (and yes, by people I mean the magazine, of course). So...here goes: Our country has made it a policy to not negotiate with terrorists. To violate that policy, especially for someone who WALKED AWAY FROM HIS UNIT, is horrible. It shouldnt have been done, weve opened a bad door and were on a slippery slope. Not to mention weve released 5 murderers who probably have an even stronger vendetta towards America now. As for Bowe Bergdahls parents; leave them alone. I dont care that his dad learned to speak his sons captors language, grew a beard or may have tweeted some things that supported his sons captors. OUR COUNTRY doesnt negotiate with terrorist, but if someone had Kate Id grow a beard, convert to your religion, tweet your theology, or do whatever else I had to to keep her alive and possibly bring her home. To them hes not a deserter or a bargaining chip, hes their kid. They dont have to justify their behavior.
