So proud of my chica! I met Mireya Romero, as a scared new mom, like all new moms, of the A-mazing Christy! She immediately got involved with every program our regional center had to offer. And when I asked her to accompany me to Sacramento to talk to our legislators about how important regional center services are, she said yes. As scared as she was, she got on a plane, with Christy who was in a baby carrier, to tell their story! Today, she is an AWESOME community advocate who not only advocates for her child, but all of our children; a SCLARC Board Member, a phenom of a mom and someone I am so proud to call friend.
