So proud of our Westbury radio students on World AIDS Day the 1st December. Respecting everyone touched by the disease, WYC Radio presents two interviews on how it is to get treatment for HIV and TB at Helen Joseph Hospital here in Johannesburg – in the country where TB (often combined with HIV) is the most common reason of death. Both AIDS Day stories are done by Martin Bouwers, a special young man turning his life around at Westbury Youth Centre. 1) First listen to a lady from Westbury who fighting against HIV and TB and queuing every month for hours to receive her treatment. 2) Give a chance also for the doctors: the second interview brings you to a HIV-TB specialist who tells how the clinic staff tries to cope with the long queues and access to medication for hundreds of people. Both of the interviews will also be broadcasted on Eldos FMs World AIDS Day Morning at 9–12am. Tune in at 87,6 – not only to listen to the recorded interviews but also to a witness live Westbury guest in Eldos’ studio: Martin will be there with his own story, too. This is the time: hard work pays off! https://soundcloud/wycradio/world-aids-day-patient
