So, some thoughts. Shaintar, so far, has been a little light on the culture of the Goblinesh. In the absence of much information Ive created my own concept of how the Gathers operate. I figured Id share and see how far they stray from other peoples perspectives, including Sean Patrick Fannon. Im in essence stealing a variation of the Klingon culture and grafting it onto the Orcs. They value Honor and combat. Orcs who break their honor are dealt with very harshly depending on how strongly theyve broken the honor code. (For example in my campaign one orc went rogue and sacked nearby villages, when he was caught other orcs beat him severely and would have killed him had the party not needed this particular orc npc to guide them back to his specific gather. Goblins are seen as generally too puny to be good warriors and are therefore generally looked down upon by Orcs, though they are still valued for their other contributions, they are second class. Ogres, are almost seen as beasts of burden. Great for combat, but generally too dumb to really participate in Orc Society at large. Think Mongo from Blazing Saddles, and that is how Ogres are generally seen. (Naturally these are the norms, and exceptions can be had.) Those who break expectations and become valuable combatants can be raised to great heights in Goblinesh Society. What are your thoughts?
