So they have removed tires from a bonfire in Limavady, good job Sgt Ian Hunt, or so you would think. But on deeper reflection we can cast our minds back to the inglorious twelfth when in full view of our police service and fellow brethren the presence of tyres on bonfires brought no such response as we have seen on this Halloween. One can only presume that the tyres then were needed to more closely mimic the fires of hell as my picture and that of my fellow SF comrades had been hoisted apron this expression of culture. Regardless of the excuses that will come off the PSNI press release it will be deemed as a rule for one and a rule for another and as such will damage policing in the longterm.
