So the last 48 hours have been a little crazy for us and we have purposely remained quiet. Since Sunday night the hashtag #STOPyouarenot1D was trending around the globe for 12 hours and was one of the top 3 topics discussed on Twitter worldwide. We have received well over half a million tweets and a lot of media attention with stories coming from the US, Europe and even Australia. We havent commented much except from a few choice interviews with some major newspapers and radio stations like BBC Radio 1. What we want to say is this we are a tribute act, we have no aspirations to be One Direction and we dont take what we do too seriously. We want to provide an alternative to people who perhaps cant afford tickets to see the real One Direction whilst having harmless fun at the same time. Some of the guys in this band are big fans of 1D and work hard to buy tickets to go to their concerts etc... just like everyone else. We enjoy performing and being on stage. We accept that we put ourselves out on the Internet and we of course will be judged/scrutinised. We dont particularly have any issues with that and fully accept that it comes with the job However, what has shocked us is seeing first hand how nasty online trolling /bullying can be. Nowadays, you hear of so many incidents where young kids are bullied online and often feel trapped and alone and that is a real cause for concern. We definitely feel inspired to look into perhaps working with an online bullying charity in the near future. With all the hate there has been some very positive comments and these are greatly appreciated. We are so thankful to everyone who tweeted, emailed and commented to let us know they enjoy what we do. If the last few days are an indication to what 2015 is going to be like for us then fasten your seat-belts! Its going to be... an interesting ride!
