So the new Flash show starts out with an orphan boy working forensics with the police who is interested in physics and enthusiastic about this new particle accelerator in the city. Seems pretty great! ...then the particle accelerator blows up (excuse me, what?), sending a shockwave through the city, only blowing up a few aircraft and a select number of vehicles, shocking the occasional person with lightning, leaving everything else pretty much unscathed (suuuuuuuuuuure...). The shocked people get superpowers, and nobody really knows or is affected by the so called large explosion that supposedly devastated the city (but not really). Are there any more physics enthusiasts out there who are equally perturbed about this as I? That was the worst, most unrealistic scientific explanation of super powers I have ever seen! I dont know if Ill sleep tonight.
