So, this character doesnt win every fight shes in... this is good, but what gave her AI his approach? LOL ~*~ “How did I get on the bed?” Grumbling she adds, “How did I end up on the wrong end of that fight?” “You were surprised by the intruder. His body has been sequestered, and all devices on the individual have been neutralized.” “Why does every muscle hurt. I don’t go through this with quick battles.” “I believe the Terran thing for me to do at this time is apologize. The moment you were not winning the contest, it was logical for me to assist. The step that made sense to avoid knocking you both out with any variety of gasses available on this ship, was to make use of the android shell in the cargo hold. It is clumsy, and far too small to accept my full program. My controls were not optimal. Once the intruder was no longer a threat I used the shell to relocate you to the bedroom for security reasons. As I said, the shell is clumsy.” A higher pitch tone erupts through the air as Rachel indignantly responds. “You banged up your captain? You knocked me around like this was a game?” “There are some programmed limitations within my code. There are physical limitations within the android. It was made clear that several items will require adjustments prior to a second attempt.” “Ya think?” Rachel rolls her eyes, and then forces her body to stand through the stiffness left from the variety of bruising. Her eyes note an overturned chair, and a smashed shelf between the door and her bed. “You are some piece of work, Jack. I don’t mean that to flatter you either.” “You required assistance. I provided it.” “Jack, just leave my body where it fell if we go through this again.” She sighs heavily and moves out the door. “Where did you put him?” “In the other bedroom.” “I take it the small holding cell on the rear of the ship was too hard for your android to enter?” “It was not attempted, Captain. I am able to utilize a variety of gasses from the secondary bedroom to keep him subdued.” Rachel almost chuckles. “Alright where do I find a filter?” “There is an adaptive gasses filter in the cabinet just to the left of your bedroom door. It will conform to you features the moment you place it on.” “Yes, Jack. I’ve used them before.” She turns her head to her left and notices the slightest indication of a panel loose in the wall. Her hands run over the side and the door vanishes. Surprised but concealing it, she makes a mental note to go deeper into the ships schematics than she’s been able to do thus far. Securing a filter to her face before grabbing a hand held energy discharge weapon, she runs through what she can recall of the interior of the room. “Jack, download the current video images from inside the secondary bedroom directly to my cortical node.” “I am unable to locate this in the research profile. This is not considered the best method of use regarding such a device and data stream.” The muscles around Rachel’s jaw flex. “Download the video stream into the blasted computer embedded in my head. Now.” “That is not advised within my programming.” “Either you prove you can adapt or I will rewrite your programming until the Jack portion is gone.” “There is no need to get violent, although as it has been observed, violence appears to be what you are designed for.” The computer initiates a brief burst of visual data transfer directly to Rachel’s cortical node. Once she knows what is going on inside, she lifts the weapon and steps through the door. Instead of wandering near the bed, she finds the man face down on the ground of the room. “Jack, what did you do?” “He has been subdued.” “You gassed him?” “Affirmative. It was for your protection, Rachel.” Through grit teeth she explains, “I came in here to question him about why he was on my ship. I can’t do that if he’s unconscious. Wake him.”
