So this will go down in the books. Not that the U. S MADE it to the next round but that I was a hero to my kids today through a song. My boys bikes were stolen out of our driveway yesterday. Like most kids they didnt think or listen and left them in the backyard the night before. Well today I was off. As I was watching the USA soccer game , I gazed out the window and saw 2 guys ride one of the bikes(one was seated and the other was behind him). They ride the bike slowly infront of my house looking towards my house(stupid). I didnt see the other bike. I listened to my 6th sense, my adrenaline kicked in and I ran out in my jeans, sandals and Dempsey tshirt towards them. The kids had no clue why I ran out. I didnt scream out or approached them. They probably would have run off or beaten me up or worse. Luckily they stopped in the park by my house. They didnt notice me and I borrowed someones phone and called the cops. One of my neighbors kid was there and I asked him to go back to the house and get one of my kids and phone. Mel and Nick came. The cops came in 10 min and pinned those guys and their 3 friend up against the wall. Those guys claimed they found the bikes in the park(idiots). My son Nick identified the other bike. A kid who had no clue they were stolen was riding it. The culprits were arrested. We Walked home with the bikes. Im folding clothes and My Gabe then playes on the iPad I need a hero by Bonnie Tyler. He didnt have to say I was a hero the song said it all. Family is a gift , a grace of god. I would do anything
