So today I was listening to The Goblet of Fire for about the 10th or so time, and I got to the part with the second task in the lake. Dobby comes running to Harry with the gilly weed, since Harry is about as good at finding useful information as I am, and Harry asks Dobby what it does. I comment in my head, kind of like helpful little hints for the everyone of those poor souls who can hear my thoughts, that it gives you gills. I felt kind of ashamed and a little dumbfounded as I realized, Hey, gillyweed gives you gills, maybe thats why its called that and isnt some abstract name that J.K. Rowling just made up or found in research. I felt really proud for putting that together, and then realized that it took me about 10 times of listening to the audiobook and who knows how many times of reading the books and watching the movies to put that together. However, seeing that finals are rapidly approaching, any accomplishment is happy news. Now for more cramming, coding, and writing, all while trying to stay sane.
