So, today marks the last day in my first week of commuting since, - TopicsExpress

So, today marks the last day in my first week of commuting since, well, probably since I was about 17. I have so far figured out that all configurations of train/tram/bus from Abbottsford to Brunswick are roughly equal in time, however I have a belief that train/train may prove to be slightly more efficient over the long term. Naturally, I will have to do a small study. And there are many more fascinating maths, stats and sociological problems to consider, such as; Has anyone done a statistical analysis of which car of any given train is the most likely to have the least number of passengers? Or Is there a correlation between where the most people are most likely to stand on a platform relative to where the entrance to the platform is and the pattern that the train ultimately fills up in? Or Do train cars fill up in a pattern relative to where the doors are placed? Or is this a random event? Or If there is a pattern to the manner in which a car fills up is there an optimum place to sit that would give the most possibility of being left with an empty seat in front of you for the longest period of time? And that is just for starters - I havent even started on the socio-psychological aspects of passenger behaviours! This commuting thing is going to more educational than I realised . . .
