So tomorrow Neil and I will be married for 9 years. I can hardly believe it. This is what I think about marriage: Its hard...really, really hard. You learn more about yourself than you ever wanted to know. And you learn more about the other person than you ever wished to know. And all that ugly stuff gets to be found out by the other person. Its completely vulnerable. But for 9 years I have been completely exposed yet completely loved. Marriage forces humanity, compassion, and patience. It forces you to love how and when it really matters. It shows you that there really isnt anything that love cant fix. So you love...on the good days, the terrible days, the mundane days. You love when you dont feel like it. And in return, you get something beautiful. Marriage is pouring love on imperfection and seeing how it transforms your life.
