So tomorrow is mine & Travis 6 year wedding anniversary! I cant believe its been that long! Our marriage didnt go anywhere near how he or I imagined it would. We imagined a perfect little marriage, filled with wonderful memories & probably a few hard times too. But we loved each other & that was all that mattered & really all we needed, right? WRONG!! We lived our lives for us. We didnt have God in our marriage at all, much less put him first. We were too wrapped up in each other. We were living to make ourselves happy instead of making each other happy! So when one of us wasnt happy, we thought maybe we just werent meant to be; one of the biggest lies the world feeds us about marriage. Where we r now is somewhere I never thought we would be, and Im SO THANKFUL!!!! We have grown in our faith and love for The Lord individually as well as in our marriage, and r still continuing to grow more everyday! We still have a LONG road ahead of us, but we r going in the right direction! I can honestly say that I have, hands down, a more amazing version of my husband than I couldve ever imagined! He works his butt off to provide for us, picks up my slack while Im working on my nursing career, encourages me and picks me back up after all of my, o so many, nursing school meltdowns and is more than what Ive always wanted in a father for my babies!!! Marriage is SO HARD! If anyone tells u different, or makes u believe that all u need is love, they are WRONG! It takes A WHOLE LOT OF WORK, every single day! But it IS possible and SO worth it when you put your heart and lives in Gods hands. Thank you Travis for fighting for me and for our family. Thank you for being such an amazing leader in our home, and giving us a more perfectly imperfect life than we couldve ever dreamed of. I love you :)
