So tonight we finished the blade, all that needs doing now is grinding it shiny and grinding an edge on it. It sort of looks more like a pirates cutlass/machete rather than a Sami knife (made it almost twice as long at it should be by mistake), but time will tell. I am also going to make a handle from reindeer antler, and we have a nice off-cut of iron to forge a hand guard, which you see us starting at the end of this album. So I decided to go for Sami blade with a Bowie knife handle and hand guard. As I said, time will tell :) hope you enjoy and get something from my pictures. S
