So, twenty-four hours ago, kick stand fork splits as threads on pivot bolt breaks causing bike to fall on my leg and drive my knee into the concrete. Next are strained muscles picking bike up from both fallen and negatively inclined position. Next I call Route 66 in Tulsa, former Buell dealer, and price stand, pivot bolt, tax and freight. Around 75 bucks. So I call Lone Star Harley in Texas and give them the part numbers I got from Route 66. Kickstand, Pivot Bolt, Freight and no tax, (shipped in from out of state), Around 73 bucks.Both have to wait 2 days freight time. Take the broken split forked kickstand, and the pivot bolt minus the threaded end along with the other parts taped to the stand to illustrate the workings and function to SPENCE MACHINE SHOP of ADA and 24 hours later I get a call that the Split fork have been v cut and then welded or brazed back into place with operating are ground free of and bead and the Pivot bolt was drilled tapped and a new thread end replaced to fit! Total price 57 bucks. Cost of putting it back on, burning the neighbors ears with my Nintendo Words every time the spring slipped before I got it back on the kickstand! A great big thank you to SPENCE MACHINE SHOP for the expedient and fine craftsmanship, saving me money and of course time! Black Betty is now standing back up on her own! e
