So we are about to face adversity. What next? Our government has shown us where they stand as far as our Lava Bed Memorial Park is concerned - the sacred burial site of our ancestors. I know at first there was shock, anger, frustration. Everyone as a whole must have felt a tinge of betrayal as we each discovered one by one what we will be facing as a Nation - the possibility of our ancestors sacred burial site being desecrated in the name of economic growth with the promise of stability as our Nation faces the stark reality of our funds slowly (maybe not so slow) dwindling down. I personally have a lot of respect for our Nations leaders as they try to work with what they have to secure a future for the next generation coming up. I refuse to believe that any of them are sitting back fattening up their pockets as best they can before their term is up. However that is just my opinion, rather than focus on them personally - lets look at this as an opportunity exercise grace. Im not saying jump on board! I am clearly against this happening. But lets show some compassion - it is a cry for help that anyone in our Nation would ever consider this as a viable option. Lets pray as a whole for healing and remind our leaders who we are and where we stand collectively as a whole. There is no need for name calling, no need for disrespectful remarks, we have no need to bring people down - this is a time if any to Build Our People Up!! Let us show them our hearts, show the power and Love of a United Nation - I say we meet on November 11th and pay our respects to the ancestors we lost when the volcano first erupted. I say we give a moment of silence, sing songs and pray over our Nation. We will not move forward until this is addressed and dealt with. We have strength not in the snap of our words Or the fire of our tongues - the ability to hurt others just because we are hurting is easily attainable for anyone to do - it takes strength to refrain from all of that! It takes strength to be gentle and to let our presence speak for us. We can let the drums share the beat of our hearts and let us reach our leaders through their hearts. This will only work if we stand together. This will only work if we unite!! Come together brothers and sisters and lets make a commitment right now!! Lets face this and let the opposition bring out the best qualities we exemplify as a Nation. We are the stewards of this Land, we are the voices of our people whos graves will be dug up and desecrated. Bad things in life dont happen because there are evil people, bad things happen in life because good people say back and did nothing. Pls dont sit back - pls use this as an opportunity to unite as one and show the world who we really are!! We Dont Disturb The Graves of Our Ancestors For Money!! I hope I dont offend anyone with this. It isnt my intent - I just dont know what I will tell my children if I dont do something, anything and everything to try to stop this!
