So we just dropped our car off and we had dinner at a Friendlys - TopicsExpress

So we just dropped our car off and we had dinner at a Friendlys not far from the Mechanics Garage. We finished our meal and we get up to leave. a 5 year old looks at me and looks at my Oakland Raiders sweatshirt and gets a bit confused. You root for the Raiders? He asked, Yep I replied, they are my favorite team You could tell he was so confused by this because he obviously lives in Patriots country and he knew who Tom Brady was before anyone else in his family. He was confused and asked Why is that? Which was a very good question for a 5 year old to ask a total stranger who also happens to be a crazy liberal Black man. Well, trying to sound ld and wise I was born in California and I lived in Oakland, California for many years. I stick with my hometown team. at that point his father says to his son And thats what you do son, this man is a faithful fan to his team and where he is from and we have to respect that The little boy seeing the acceptance from his father smiled back at me and went back to eating his ice cream. The father was grateful for a small teaching moment he could give his son about sports loyalty. To me, that lesson is as important has reading, writing, arithmetic, how to ask a girl out on your first date, and how to get forgiveness from you wife when you make her mad. All this because my car starter went out and Friendlys still makes a mean cheeseburger.
