Soap box alert: I have a dear friend (Ive mentioned her recently) who was in a biking accident. She received several physical injuries, but she will also have to go through a long time of cognitive rehab and be patient with her own healing of her mental faculties. She is a young, healthy, and very fit woman…. and… she was wearing her helmet. I do not understand people, especially of advanced years, who do not wear their helmet when biking, even on a trail. I have often thought, as I pass them, that most people can recover from broken bones and bruises. But a brain injury is not so easily recovered. Put on your helmet people!!! Be safe.
