Some FB friends have been posting every day in November about what they’re thankful for. I’m not organized enough to do it every day so I’ll do it all at once. I’m thankful for my hubby, who is my best friend and anchor. I’m thankful for my daughters. Even though they drive me crazy, they are sweet and loving girls and I hope they grow into smart, confident, happy women. I’m thankful that my parents and parents-in-law are still in (relatively) good health. I’m thankful to live in a society where I can have a career outside of the home. Neither my kids nor I would enjoy me being a stay-at-home mom. I’m thankful to have not one but two awesome jobs where I can make a positive impact in the lives of people and animals. At Holladay Veterinary Hospital we have the best doctors, manager, receptionists and technicians of any veterinary hospital I’ve ever worked at (and I’ve worked in a lot of clinics). Everyone makes work fun. And at Urban Search and Rescue -- Utah Task Force 1, I am honored to work with amazing people and K9s who put themselves in harm’s way to rescue complete strangers. My firefighter teammates are wonderful people who have adopted me as a sister. I’m thankful to my friends in my writers’ group. They are funny, smart, geeky people who have helped me in writing and publishing, and are fun to hang out with even when we’re just watching zombie movies.
