Some notes to take notice of from the MAA Board meeting held on Saturday, March 8, 2014: • Due to the condition of the MAA membership records, the board approved a motion allowing all annual dues paid during the 2013-2014 fiscal year to expire on September 30, 2014 - no matter what date the membership card shows. • The byLaws Committee has been finalized and will be meeting to review and rewrite the existing byLaws. Marketing/Communication Committee: Approved by the Board: • MAA Web & Social Media Guidelines (now posted on Facebook and the website) • Digital Newsletter will start in June 2014 • New MAA Letterhead approved • An official MAA Membership Application was developed and approved by the board as a new tool to recruit new members • Designs for MAA merchandise (shirts, hats) was approved. To be sold starting at Homecoming 2014. • A redesign of the MAA Membership card is underway. • The technology committee is reviewing membership software that will give the membership full access to their records and the ability to update information, pay dues, make donations and register for events - all in one online portal. • Date of June 28, 2014 was chosen for the Annual MAA Family Picnic at Mooseheart Lake. (Details to follow) • A Camp Ross Cleanup Day is being planned for May, 2014. (Final date to be set) • The Board approved for the interim Secretary to proceed to get a 501c3 designation status for the Association • All committee chairpersons were instructed to keep track of all volunteer hours by using the volunteer log sheet • Due to so many privacy issues in today’s high-tech world, the Board approved the following: MAA PRIVACY STATEMENT Mooseheart Alumni Association will only publish the names of current active members. Mooseheart Alumni Association Members contact information will not be shared with anyone without the expressed written permission of that member. Members must “opt in” to share their personal information.
