Some of you might find this paper interesting: Tracking the Wild Mushroom: Canada’s Wild Mushroom Commodity Chain. Its written by Dylan Gordon, an anthropology PhD candidate investigating the Canadian wild food trade, who lived for two years with wild mushroom harvesters in BC. I came across him through a short article he published in C Magazine (a Canadian Contemporary Art magazine) called Mushroom Magic, Mushroom Gold. All his work is an interesting window into wild food foraging and the marketplace.
