Some organisms with CCMs, e.g. many cyanobacteria, might have difficulties with growing in the absence of a CCM: while they have the capacity to recy- cle phosphoglycolate to sugars and have a high CO2 permeability, they do not have a ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase–oxygenase Okay okay. So doin some chem study and I stumble on this. Honestly what the actual shit is a ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase–oxygenase. Pretty sure I need Phd to pronounce it. I sorta just stopped reading when my brain started to figure out how to cope with it. Reading the chemicals on the back of a shampoo bottle in the shower is pretty relaxing. Might go do some light shampoo reading now.
