Somebody asked my nationality today, I said american, he looked confused, i explained to him that i was born and raised in this great country that has afforded me the opportunity to be a screw up and a success. Where im allowed to be me, practice my faith, speak my mind, and work hard to achieve a life that is my own. Somebody once told me i must do 3 things, study, study, study, in and through that process I have learned that my mind is my own, to either be influenced or to think for myself.... some times people are led astray because the longing to belong lingers deep or lack of conviction in a belief system, so we run with the crowd, and to dissent is grounds to be called so many different titles...hater, racist, radical, judgemental. Im an ex-con, drug addict, Christian, American, and very far from perfect but damn thanks to this great country and all those who served her i can be all of those things with out fear. My mind is my own...
