† Someone May Be Listening † Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips! Psalms 141:2–3 ESV A mentor of mine used to say, "Words unspoken, you are their master. Words once spoken, you become their slave". David prayed that the Lord would set a guard over his mouth to keep him from saying things that he should not.In the Old Testament (Num. 14:28) the Lord said what I have heard you say I will do to you. In the New Testament (Mat. 12:37) Jesus said: for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. So we have an unchanging pattern throughout time that what comes out of your mouth directly affects your life.Do not speak bad things over your life, or your children. Say good things about them or say nothing. Stay positive in your speech. When you are speaking today listen to the words that you are saying, and if they are negative pray that God sets a guard over your mouth. Someone may be listening.
