Something I particularly love about running is the fact there theres always improvements to be made. But Im not just talking about getting faster. Sure, thats one way to measure your improvement, if thats your goal, but the other ways I like to look at improvement in my running are: - distance goals - consistency - fewer injuries - trying new routes/terrain - form Etc. So I know I like to post when I get a PB or something here but I wanted to make a point that speed is definitely not the only focus area of improvement for me. Maybe you want to start running with a group, or want to try trail running. Maybe you want to work at your form or your distance. Whats great is that running is a personal challenge and we have personal goals, so it doesnt matter what someone else is doing or how they are running, keep the focus on yourself and what you want to achieve. Theres many ways to measure improvement, well thats how I see it anyway and it really helps me to look at running in that way to make sure my focus isnt solely on my pace all the time, especially as I cant really do speed work in the traditional sense.... Although sometimes I do really enjoy a good lung buster! Mon x
