Something amazing happened to us today and it has inspired me to pay it forward, so at the end of this, Ill be offering you a little challenge. While packing the car to check out of our hotel in Orlando, we accidentally left a bag at the curb, leaning on the cars front tire. Neither of us saw it there, so we drove off. Not 30 minutes later, I checked my phone, and there was a message from the hotel, telling us wed left items behind. When I called security to find out what wed left, they said that nothing had been turned in, but they would look into it. Same old story, right? Looking into it - not so. These amazing people actually managed to secure our two laptops - one of which is less than a month old - together with all the financial papers and expensive luggage case the laptops were in. I simply cannot believe the amazing security staff at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort in Orlando and the honest and quick-thinking person or persons who turned in our bag with every single item still in it. I asked for a name to give a reward, but there was none to be had. So when making your travel plans to Orlando, please remember to stay at Cabana Bay. And now, in honor of the honest person(s) who turned in our stuff, I am challenging everyone this holiday season to donate to charity. I hope that this paying it forward will go viral, so that each good deed begets another, and the positive energy continues. The holiday season should be merry and bright for those (some furry, some feathered, some human, some reptile) less fortunate than ourselves. Ive made a nice donation to my favorite charity, Feline Freedom Coalition and I encourage everyone reading this to donate at least one dollar to my charity. In turn, I will donate at least one dollar to every charity that you, my friends, send my way by cutting and pasting the second paragraph of this message into a new post labeled Holiday Charity Challenge with the link to the charity of your choice. If everyone sends this to their friends and encourages them to send the challenge to their friends, each pledging to donate a minimum of one dollar to every charity that is forwarded to them, we will hopefully be able to accomplish something similar to the great strides made by the ALS challenge this past summer. Each season needs a reason to give, and there is no better inspiration during the holidays than the kindness and honesty of others.
