Sometimes friends do extraordinary things. Simple things. But extraordinary nonetheless. They think nothing of them. And THAT is exactly what makes those things so extraordinary. Last week, Amanda took her first Amtrak ride from the Utica station (not the best neighborhood truthfully) to Albany (marginally better neighborhood - not really.) I had to work so she asked her friend of 10 years, Edward (whom Ive always really thought was a really awesome kid) to give her a ride. Most people would consider their favor given and complete once theyd pulled into the parking lot at the train station. Not Edward. He parked and came inside with her to make sure she got checked in, boarded her train and on her way safely. As fate would have it, the train was well over an hour late and Edward spent that time with Amanda. They went to the mall, laughed, spent time catching up, called me and returned to the station. He saw to it that my baby was safely sent off to spend the weekend in Albany visiting her boyfriend, Edwards mutual friend, Daniel when I wasnt able to be there to do it myself. Edward, there arent enough words in my vocabulary to adequately convey my appreciation for your dedication to friends and especially to my Panda Bear. Im so proud of the man youve become. I love you, you wonderful, extraordinary, young man. ❤️ the world needs more people like you in it.
