Sometimes we have to be broken so that we may be fixed. You - TopicsExpress

Sometimes we have to be broken so that we may be fixed. You see, in the Bible sometimes people are represented by sheep. Psalm 100:3 says, Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his ; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. You can say that we are all sheep, and that Jesus is our shepherd. Jesus says in in John 10:14 - I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep. God knows you. He knows everything about you. Matthew 10:30 says, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. God knows your heart, your desires, your intentions, and He cares for each of us individually. He said in the scriptures we just read that if just one out of 100 sheep left that He would go after it. In our minds one sheep doesnt mean a lot when you have 100 but to God each of us matter. Jesus said I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd lays his life down for his sheep. And thats exactly what he did. Now the scripture we read in Luke deals with a sheep that wandered off and got lost. The shepherd, because of his love for the sheep, goes and finds it and then carries the sheep back on his shoulders. You see, I was told, a good shepherd will break a lambs leg if it keeps wandering and refuses to stay with the flock. The shepherd will do everything possible to keep him with the rest of the flock; but if the little sheep is head strong and bent on going wherever he pleases, his master will do something about it. Since wolves and other predators are an ever-present danger, and rather than letting the lamb find out the fatal way, the shepherd resorts to breaking the lamb’s leg. This is a severe measure, but when the sheeps life is at stake severe things are often done. After breaking the lambs leg, the shepherd has to carry the little sheep in his protective arms until it heals. Night and day he carries the lamb. Everywhere the shepherd goes, the lamb goes. The lamb no longer has the liberty to go here and there as it had in the past. The little creature may have strayed at one time with the wild animals into the wilderness; but now, he remains secure in the arms of his loving master. By the time the leg heals and he can walk again, the lamb grows so fond of his master that when he is released, he will stray no more, not one step. From then on, he follows ever so closely. That little lamb not only learns from the pain of the broken leg, but it comes to have such a deep love for his lord that the two can never be separated. HAVE YOU BEEN BROKEN DOWN SO THAT YOU MAY BE FIXED?
