Sorry for my absence this week guys! My littlest guy was admitted - TopicsExpress

Sorry for my absence this week guys! My littlest guy was admitted to the hospital Monday and just got out yesterday evening. He had a big surprise for us when we got home though. LITTLE MAN IS CRAWLING! Im so proud, especially since he has severe truncal hypotonia and shouldnt be able too at all. I am one proud momma! So I have been hearing a large debate on some pages about extended rear facing with car seats. The recommended time is rear facing until at least 2, but as close to age 4 as you can for maximum safety. I turned my toddler forward facing at 1 simply because I wasnt aware of the changes in recommendation, and I cant turn him back around now because he is too tall. With my little guy, I intend to have him rear facing until he reaches the height and weight maximum. He is considered failure to thrive anyway so I wouldnt want to turn him for that reason. Hes a year old in a week and still hasnt broken 19 pounds. What is your opinion? I have seen some strong opinions but mine is why not keep them rear facing for safety as long as you can? Its not about ease, its about being the safest you can in an accident. Please, keep it civil as you discuss your opinions! Thanks! :) -Elle
