South Bronx Culture Trail Marker Design Contest: Featuring CLASPED HANDS designed by John Ahearn and Rigoberto Torres John Ahearn and Rigoberto Torres design features a lifecast of childrens hands, clasped to symbolize the sense of community and family that are central to life in the South Bronx. Tapping into the respect accorded by the bronze plaques traditionally used to signify historic places, this colorful design is cast in bronze to draw attention to the importance of these sties as a part of the South Bronxs culture and history. ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, VOTE! is an exhibition of eight design proposals for the markers. Visit the Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education Gallery and use the exhibition postcards to vote on your top three design selections. Your vote, along with those of our South Bronx Culture Trail Advisory Council, will determine which design concept will be selected and implemented.
