Southern Appalachia Railway Museum ~ Good News from the SARM Mechanical Department. After waiting several months for time in the shop locomotive 2064 will return to service on tomorrows Independence weekend trips at The Secret City Scenic excursion train. 2064 was built in 1964 by the American Locomotive Company in Schenectady, New York and celebrates 50 years of railroading this year. Her days on the big railroad included working for the Lehigh Valley Railroad as well as the Deleware & Hudson Railroad. Nicknamed Baby she is now enjoying her retirement years in Oak Ridge on the passenger train and occasional work handling the freight.
