{SpaceNews Court remands 2 suspected cultists in prison over alleged murder An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates Court in Lagos on Monday ordered the remand of two suspected cult members in prison over an alleged murder of a rival member. The Magistrate, Mr K.O. Ogundare, ordered that Kabir Bagobiri, 36, and Adisa Olawoyin, 34, are to kept in the Ikoyi Prisons, pending an advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions. The reports showed that the accused are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder. The court did not take the pleas of the accused. The Prosecutor, Sgt. Cousin Adams, told the court that the accused committed the crime on Jan.17 at about 8 p.m. at Apapa Road in Oyingbo, Lagos. ``The accused belonged to an unlawful society known as Aiye Fraternity. ``The accused and the rival group had misunderstanding, which resulted to a fight; the accused allegedly used cutlass to kill one Seyi Olaleye, he said. Adams said that the offences contravened Sections 221 and 231 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011. Section 221 provides that subject to the provisions of any other law, a person who commits murder shall be sentenced to death.
