~Spanish Beach Style~ My first week in the southern most point - TopicsExpress

~Spanish Beach Style~ My first week in the southern most point of Spain was unbelievable! Tarifa is a small beach town buzzing with people seeking sand, sea, and surf. Worries are washed away by the turquoise waves and style is effortless zen/meets surfer. One of the most amazing things about Tarifa is the sun. You can see Morocco from the beach and the African sun is powerful. Like nothing I had ever experienced before. The women are bronzed and all of them have long hair that has been bleached to the perfect ombré by the rays! I am sort of convinced ombré started here by accident! If you want to try and achieve a little Tarifa style on your next beach trip, Here are a few recommendations. Go old school with it. On damp natural virgin hair try and brighten your ends with some water, lemon juice, and about an hour in the sun. (Wear lots of SPF, and dont tell your dermatologist I recommended sun exposure :/ !!!) Be sure to shampoo and deep condition with something hydrating like the Pureology Hydrate line as lemon, salt water and sun can be a drying to your hair. Next if you want to create that day at the beach messy wave look. Shampoo and condition your hair, while damp scrunch in a wave product. Let me emphasize the scrunch. You must scrunch from your ends up to the root and continue till you can see a messy wavy texture form. Then either diffuse or air dry and if you need more wave or want to add a little extra volume bump with a curling iron once hair is dry ~Wave Products ~ The two products I love love love and brought with me on my journey are Pureology Sea-kissed texture spray. Its light and like all pureology products a little goes a long way. I have become completely addicted to this new product. It also smells like heaven!!! My kiteboarding instructor commented He wanted to be the one to zip up my wetsuit because my hair smelled so good!(So single almost 30 women looking to date a hot surfer guy this is a must :) ) The second product may be harder to find but it was one of my favorites from my NYC salon. Its a styling foam that is also very light and soft, perfect for shaping curls without giving you the crunchy 90s gel look. Its by Shu Uemura and its called Kaze Wave. Its a bit pricy and you would have to find it online but it is also an awesome product to add to your hair care arsenal. Well Adios for now! On to Paris, where I am sure they will teach me more than a thing or two about style!
